I got a call from Bonnie at about 4:30 this afternoon and she was crying, hard. Seems she is having severe pain in her right abdomen (a 9 out of 10 on the pain scale). It had been bothering her, on and off, since last night
Yes, she had gone to the health center at Colgate. No, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and sent her home. It was 7:30 pm her time, and the health center was now closed.
Of course, I insisted that she go to the hospital. She must have argued with me, crying, for about 10 minutes. She didn't want to inconvenience anyone (?) and what if it was nothing (it's a 9 out of 10 and it could be nothing?). And she had a lot of homework to do, but of course couldn't concentrate and do it.
She finally called Campus Security on her room phone while I held on, on the cell phone. They said that they would come and get her and take her to the hospital.
She has now been waiting about 2 hours. I have talked to her several times, finally convincing her to call a friend to come sit with her. Her friend has just arrived and that makes her feel more comfortable.
Now, I just wait...
Update: Bonnie finally called a friend to sit with her. She waited about 3 hours to be called in for her exam. She has had some blood taken...I'm guessing they're screening her for an internal infection. And she's on an IV for her nausea.
Oh I do hope it isn't serious. Please let us know how she is doing. Sending good thoughts and prayers your way.
