I just had to photograph these cute little plastic figures from my office for this morning's photo challenge. These were toys collected from KinderEggs, which I used to buy from the Dutch Store here in town. You can no longer buy KinderEggs in the U.S. because our government fears that we are too stupid to know that we are not supposed to eat the chocolate from around the (hard-to-open) plastic egg inside, and we may therefor eat the chocolate, plastic egg, and toys inside and THAT would be a choking hazard. Yes, Please Protect Us From Our Own Stupidity...do I sound bitter? Well, yes I am. I had to go 6000 miles away, to Britain, to again have the joy of a KinderEgg on my travels.
Well you all have me hooked on these Friday things now, and I'm thinking about participating just to get a little drawing or photography practice in. :)
What a unique collection. I'd never even heard of KinderEggs. I probably would've tried to eat the chocolate--and the plastic under it. Sorry if I contributed to the unavailability of these things, but you see I just can't resist chocolate in any form. :D

I'm glad you got to get KinderEggs during your travels. Did you smuggle them in??
On another note, I noticed that you were reading The Good Earth. Love it. Try her book, The Three Daughters of Madame Liang. It's good as well.
