Sometimes, when the Illustration Friday prompt is announced, I just sit there, stupified...trying to think of something that will be:
- interesting
- close to my ability level (in drawing and Illustrator skills)
- resonating with me
- pretty
This week's prompt is lost. Usually, an image just springs to mind but this one is in the stupifying catagory. I thought of Hansel and Gretel, but there is no personal connection...it wasn't one of my favorite stories, for instance. I thought of the Air Supply song...Lost in Love...and I like the idea of the picture I could make but the song is sort of hokey. I thought of all the things that I have lost and never been able to find, but I can't really figure out a way to put that thought into something visual. So, still thinking...
John is gone for the weekend at a Democratic Strategy Conference. A whole weekend of politics...I just know he's in hog heaven. I told Ross that it would be as much fun for him as my Cousin's Weekend was for me. The weather here is gray and misty, and I'm hoping that he's having better weather in Bend. Isn't it supposed to be sunny and warm there all the time, like California? I have absolutely nothing to do this weekend. So, I've decided to go to the gym, do some winter cleanup in the garden, have dinner with my mother-in-law, and do some reading (I'm starting The Devil in White City by Erik Larson). It's a nice mix of active-girl and couch-potato.
oooh sounds like a perfect weekend! It's gray and misty here, too and I am loving it though I think I'm doing more of the couch potato and less of the activity . . .
