The wonderful Tinker subtly reminded me that I had left her (and anyone else interested) hanging ...with the mystery move of my neighbor AND everything else in my life, a couple of weeks ago.
Yes, I am still here and alive.
Various events, big and small, have made me sloppy in my blog-updating. In the 'big' events catagory, Adam came home and then left again. He was only here for a few days, and we spent those days doing a lot of eating. We went to Sinju (our fave sushi place in the Pearl) for Bonnie's 20th birthday dinner. We went out for Apple Pancakes, Dutch Babies, and Fresh Fruit Waffles at The Original Pancake House. We went to lunch at Grand Central Bakery. And we had a BBQ at our house for a couple of Adam's friends. We did things other than eating, too, though they fade into the back of my memory banks.
Bonnie lamented turning 20..."I'm so old!"...and I told her I remembered feeling EXACTLY that when I turned 20. Adam added that he felt the same at 20, though he thought 21 was cool...but now he is 22 and that is 'so damn old!' When they get older, they will see, like I did, that the 20's is one of the most fun and 'young' periods of one's life.
Our neighbor's ended up selling their house to someone who is planning on flipping it. There is already a for sale sign in front, but I think that anyone would realize that it needs a new roof, new paint, and other fix-ups inside. The two sisters who lived there were having money problems and things just got away from them. It was very hard and emotional for them to move. It was sad to talk to them about it, too. So...NOT being hidden by the government, NOT running from the law...just boring old 'financial problems'.
Bonnie is healing from her surgery but not fast enough for her taste. She is hoping that she is back to normal soon.
So, Adam is back in Scotland, Bonnie leaves Sept 5, Ross goes on Sept 17. Yikes...
