I didn't actually go to China today. I was supposed to go to the Portland Chinese Garden with my mom this morning. But it started snowing at 7:45 am and didn't stop for a few hours. We had a few inches of snow on the ground and it was snowing all the way down the Valley to where my mom lives. We decided to cancel our day.
But when the snow stopped at about 11, and the temp started going up...well, I decided that it would be a great place to photograph in the snow and ice. Especially since they have decorated with lanterns for the Chinese New Year. I was right, it was gorgeous. Even the downspouts are beautiful. Here are a few of my photos.
That's gorgeous! We got snow too--but our problem was mainly ICE. Ick.

Beautiful! Looks like an amazing place to visit.
And the Chicken Tikka Masala below looks scrumptious. Without fail I always order that :-)

I need to go to Portland. I would love to see this garden. One of the things I really miss about living in LA is the gardens that were available for us. We were members at Descanso Gardens (Pasadena), and the Huntington Gardens. Here in Denver we have the Botanic Gardens which are nice, but not quite the same. Your pictures are beautiful.

Oh, it does look beautiful in the snow - and what a wonderful way to start off the Chinese New Year.
