I drove to Corvallis on Friday to take Ross shopping. He was going to attend a formal (!) dance last night. And he needed...everything.
I brought him a shirt, a tie, a nice coat. We went on a shoe-buying outing. Everything for the stylish young man.
He was very nervous about the prospect. He's not much on public social mixing. But I can't wait to hear how it turned out.
I also love the city of Corvallis and its surroundings.
The post office is this gorgeous testament to public buildings of the past. I'm not sure if you can tell from this photo but it has gargoyles and terra cotta decoration, brass lamps...gorgeous.
All around town, including in front of the Post Office, they have these cool waves with salmon sculptures.
And some cool restaurants.
And the countryside is lovely, with red barns and electric green fields.
I processed all these photos in Photoshop with Viveza film filters. Aren't they fun?
It looks so cool! I love that old post office especially, but the colors in that last photo are just stunning. That would make a great print.
What a good mom, taking your son shopping. Hope the dance went well for your son!

What a lovely post office building! I wish architecture still looked like that today.
It sounds like your kids are very accomplished! How long has Bonnie been abroad? What an incredible experience to have =) I lived in France for awhile and taught English on the side to stay afloat. It was easily the most rewarding and frustrating thing I have ever done and I can only imagine how much more difficult it must be coming from Japanese to English. Does she speak Japanese, then?

My friend Peggy and I went to that restaurant when we were in Corvallis. We had fun walking around, then spotted the place and it looked interesting. It was very good, even though drinks were expensive! What is this formal dance of Ross'? Hope it went well. Tell us more.
