Any time I spend time in the garden, I have little elves 'helping' me...well, not elves but my pets, Biscuit (above) and Cookie (below). Biscuit helps by taking dainty bites out of my catmint, thus 'trimming' it for me. Cookie fertilizers the garden with her own unique bits. Cookie has not yet figured out that I don't like her to walk across the plants, but around them. Hmmm...maybe better training of my assistants is in order.
Hope all is well with you. Wishing you happy holidays!

I don't know which is more beautiful: The dog or the garden! My old dog used to lie flat in the middle of my beds. She was so cute I couldn't chastise her.
Enjoy your pet friends and your gorgeous garden!

Took me a minute to see the cat...they both look so attentive. Nice photo. Pets make household chores more fun -- I'm convinced.

Our cats were always very helpful. Rolling about where I just planted seeds or leaving helpful bits where I'd least expect it. It was always such good fun. I miss them so very much. Now, I have a handful of neighborhood cats that sneak into the row covers to enjoy the heat and nap. I like them, even if they crush the lettuce now and again. Thanks for a great post!

My "helper" is equally helpful....walking over the freshly planted seeds, or digging up the soil in the good planting beds. In fact I have a sneaking suspicion that her traipsing over my newly planted shelling peas are the reason that ONLY ONE came up. I must have planted over 30. Anyway, it's easier to blame the two-year old than my beginning gardener skills!

Training? Ha ha--you'll have to let me know how that goes!
